Please fire me. My boss, the president of a family-owned business, asked me to attend the shareholder meeting. He then let me know he would be conducting the entire meeting in Portuguese, in order to accommodate his non-English speaking mother. I do not speak Portuguese.
The family yelled at each other for two hours without me understanding a word. When they were done my boss looked at me and said, “I’ve now closed the meeting. Just so you know, I’ll need minutes of everything that was said.”
