Can Acans get brown jelly?
Well-Known Member You can try and frag it but do it quicky and just hope for the best (keep doing the dip everyday too). One time I bought 4 frags and one of the acans got the “brown jelly” and was completely gone in two days.

Do you dip ACAN coral?
Acans do not like coral rx in my experience but I too always use both dips. I would dip in the reef dip again but not the coral rx and then give it a few days. If feeding tantacles come out feed it some soaked pellets.
Are Acans hard to keep?
They are very easy to keep, low to medium light. They eat like pigs. Coral frenzy, or mysis, rods food, etc.
How much par is needed for Acans?
Lighting & Flow Requirements: Aussie Hulk Acan Lord Coral requires moderate water flow and low to moderate lighting (PAR 120-250). T5’s, Metal Halides, or LED’s can all grow Acan Lord Corals when the proper PAR levels are provided. We recommend a 14-20K color spectrum for best coloration.
Will Acans grow on sand?
mine prefer the sandbed (20l so rocks are too much light imo) The lower they are the more “puffy” they tend to get. I actually started my acan out on the sandbed of my 90 gallon and it started to die. I moved it about halfway up the tank on the rocks and now it’s coming back to life.
Can torch coral and Frogspawn touch?
Active Member. Frogspawn and hammers will get along just fine with themselves and each other. Neither will do well with a torch. Torches can do ok with each other as long as they are from the same origin.
Will clownfish host a torch coral?
Torch corals will host clownfish, but the clownfish are also likely to kill it with their “nuzzling”. The coral will also never fully expand once clownfish start interacting with it.
How do you acclimate ACAN?
Give at least 4-6 inches of space between Acans and other coral as they can and will fight for a dominant position. Don’t forget to acclimate your coral appropriately. Some people just float the bag for 30 minutes then drop them into the tank.
Can you put Acans next to each other?
As long as you keep the same type of acan together you should be fine. They call it the ‘passing lane’ and the ‘fast lane’ for a reason.
How fast do ACAN corals grow?
My rainbow acan has 3 polyps and they are quite healthy with good extensions. I glued the frag plug to a rubble . The ones that are growing fast started growing new heads around 1.5 to 2 months.
