Does GEMS cover immediately?
Provide full cover, without any waiting periods, for people who join with chronic or life-threatening conditions. Not penalise people who never had medical cover before. Allow your parents, grandparents, in-laws and nieces and nephews to join GEMS if they are financially dependent on you.
Can I stay on GEMS if I resign?
When you resign, you can’t use your GEMS membership card to access healthcare services. If we receive a claim for a service received after you’ve resigned, GEMS will reject the claim because you’re no longer an active member.
