Is Debrox the same as hydrogen peroxide?
Debrox Earwax Removal “Most will contain either an oil — like mineral oil — or a variation of hydrogen peroxide.” Debrox is an over-the-counter earwax removal aid that contains carbamide peroxide, an active ingredient that helps loosen wax from the ear.
How long do you leave Debrox in your ear?
Hold the dropper upside down over your ear and drop the correct number of drops into the ear. You may hear a bubbling sound inside your ear. This is caused by the foaming action of Debrox, which helps break up the wax inside your ear. Stay lying down or with your head tilted for at least 5 minutes.
Do you have to flush ear after Debrox?
To use Debrox®, place 5-10 drops in the affected ear(s). You may hear a temporary crackling or fizzing sound, which is normal. It’s just the sound of the drops working their magic. After the earwax drains, you can use warm water to gently flush out any remaining earwax.
Does Debrox have side effects?
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. This is not a complete list of possible side effects.
Can Debrox damage your ears?
It does not contain alcohol, so it will not cause drying of the ear canal. Use it twice daily for up to 4 days if needed. It should not be used, however, if you have an injury to your eardrum, fluid discharge from your ear, pain, or irritation. Debrox is safe for use by individuals 12 years of age and older.
Does Debrox work instantly?
First day, 4 drops in ear. Second, 10 drops in ear and lied down on my side for 15 minutes. I could heard the product working with the crackling sound right away. Afterwards, I used a medication syringe with warm water.
How do I know if Debrox is working?
You will know when your ear is completely cleaned out because the water won’t stay in your ear, and obviously your hearing will immediately be improved.
Who should not use Debrox?
Carbamide peroxide otic should not be used on a child younger than 12 years old.
Is Debrox safe?
Debrox has a diluted form of hydrogen peroxide and is safe in the ears for short periods of time. This is safe for children to use as well.

Can Debrox make you deaf?
Common side effects may include: a foaming or crackling sound in the ear after using the ear drops; temporary decrease in hearing after using the drops; mild feeling of fullness in the ear; or.
Can Debrox make your ear worse?
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using carbamide peroxide otic and call your doctor at once if you have: dizziness; or. new or worsening ear problems.
What to do after Debrox is in ear?
If there is any wax remaining after treatment, it may be removed by gently rinsing the ear with warm water or using an ear syringe with a soft rubber bulb. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about using an ear syringe safely. Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after use.
