The Big One, formerly known as the Pepsi Max Big One, opened at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1994. It is made of steel and rises to a height of 65 metres above ground. After 26 years in operation, it was time for the rollercoaster tracks to be rebuilt and refitted to give passengers a smoother ride.

How long does it take to get to the top of the Big One?
The first drop has an incline angle of 65 degrees and the usual maximum speed for the ride is 74 miles per hour (119 km/h). The ride lasts approximately three minutes and during this time riders normally experience positive g-forces of up to 3.5g and negative g-forces of up to 0.5g.
Is the big one being taken down?
Four sections of track approximately 45m (147ft) in length were removed on November 6, 2019, before being replaced on February 3, 2020. This year (2022), the park sold pieces of the original track to rollercoaster fans all over the world.
