The T-1000 is a fictional character in the Terminator franchise. A shapeshifting android assassin, the T-1000 is the main antagonist of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, as well as a minor antagonist in Terminator Genisys and the theme park attraction T2 3-D: Battle Across Time.

It can also spread its mass out so thin that it can blend into the surrounding environment. Immunity – The T-1000 cannot be harmed by conventional firearms.
Why is T-1000 after John Connor?
It was programmed to kill John Connor, so that was what it worked towards. It is also probable that the T-1000 didn’t know the origins of Skynet. There wasn’t any reason for Skynet to program it with that knowledge, as that information wouldn’t have had any bearing on it’s mission.

The T-1000 being destroyed by acid. Corrosives, such as concentrated hydrochloric acid were also known to damage T-1000s and could even destroy the units if prolonged exposure could be achieved.

The T-1000 – made of what the movie called a “mimetic polyalloy” – was the villain, but those then-unparalleled CG effects made him the star of that film. Luckily we don’t have to contend with shapeshifting liquid metal robots that do human impersonations in real life.

The Rev-9 is composed of carbon-based alloy, making it lighter and stronger than previous Terminators. The Rev-9 can adapt behavioral responses (such as emotions) similarly to the T-800, and its exterior can quickly heal itself after taking an injury, like the T-1000.
