- Install Tampermonkey for Chrome or Firefox.
- Click “raw” (top right) on this gist-file.
- In a Geoguessr-game press SHIFT + ALT + G.
- A new tab will open with Google Maps on the exact position you have to guess in your Geoguessr-game.
How do you play Geoguessr?
The “classic” Geoguessr game mode consists of five rounds, each showing a different street view location. The player scores more points (to a maximum of 5,000) depending on how close to the actual photo location they guess. Games may be user-generated or random.

If you want to play without a timer you need to select a map and click the play button. There is one free game daily on the map of your choice + the daily challenge that always has 3 minutes per round. Thanks for letting me know. The first day I played there were five games and time was unlimited.
Where can I find GeoGuessr?
You can also go to Google Maps, zoom out, and click on the little yellow man icon in the bottom right corner to see Google Street View coverage in a particular region. Learning what Google Street View doesn’t cover will help you narrow down where you are.

The reason is simple: the game costs too much money to maintain. For your information, Geoguessr isn’t the main activity of its developers. Just a small side project. It started in 2013 as an experiment by a swedish guy.

We have just launched our new Time-system! We have wanted to do this change since we want our players to be able to try out more of our game modes that we offer. You can now try out all game modes, such as Duels/Battle Royale/Competitive Streaks.

In case you get a Black Screen in Country or US Streak you can send the Game-ID on to [email protected] and we can resolve it (This is the URL to a game and can be found under Activites or Ongoing Games depending on if you have guessed on it or not).
How do I change my name on Geoguessr?
Yes, you can change your nickname, email and password on your settings page. If you signed up using Facebook or Google, send us an email if you need to update your email address.
