What is Revolade used for?
Revolade is a medicine that is used for the treatment of: • primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a disease in which the patient’s immune system destroys platelets (components in the blood that help it to clot). Patients with ITP have low platelet counts in the blood (thrombocytopenia) and are at risk of bleeding.
Does Revolade increase platelets?
The active substance in Revolade, eltrombopag, attaches to and stimulates the same receptors as thrombopoietin. This leads to an increased production of platelets, improving platelet counts.
What are side effects of Revolade?
The most common side effects of Revolade when used to treat patients with chronic HCV and antiviral agents include headache, anemia, decreased appetite, insomnia, cough, nausea, diarrhea, alopecia, pruritus, myalgia, pyrexia, fatigue, influenza-like illness, asthenia, chills and peripheral edema.
How do you take Revolade 25 mg?
Take Revolade 25mg Tablet on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Take Revolade 25mg Tablet at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after eating dairy products and calcium-fortified juices.
When should I take Revolade?
Take REVOLADE at least 2 hours before or at least 4 hours after antacids, dairy products or some mineral supplements such as iron, calcium, magnesium, aluminium, selenium and zinc. One way to avoid issues with these products would be to take them in the morning and REVOLADE in the evening.
When is the best time to take Revolade?
Eltrombopag may be taken at any time of the day or night provided patients remember to take eltrombopag at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after certain foods, drinks, and medicines. However, patients may find it easier to remember if they take it at the same time every day.
