What is a bass amp head used for?
The head is the part of the amp into which you plug your bass guitar. The bass speaker cabinet, or just cabinet, is the box enclosure housing the speaker or speakers. The output of the bass amp head is sent to the speaker cabinet. The head and cabinet can be bought separately.

Yes, there are; you can use something called a load box instead of the speaker cabinet. A load box connects to the speaker out on your amp head, where you would normally connect the speaker cabinet. The load box provides a “load” that effectively absorbs the power coming from the amp head, just like a speaker cab does.
Can you play guitar on a bass amp?
Yes, you can. A bass amp works for an electric guitar, too. Furthermore, many guitarists have used a bass amp while playing and recording. If you just plug the guitar directly into the bass amp, you’ll get a dry sound, and you might not like what you hear.

Can you play through just an amp head?
