What do you feed LPS corals?
LPS corals along with colonial polyps typically have larger mouths so they can easily consume pellet or frozen foods such as brine and mysis shrimp. Many soft corals and SPS corals have much smaller mouths and will require liquid or powder foods with smaller particles.
Is mushroom coral A LPS?
The mushroom coral is a soft coral, which means that it does not produce a hard calcium carbonate skeleton like large polyp stony corals (LPS) or small polyp stony corals (SPS).
Are LPS corals hard to keep?
These corals are very easy to grow and require less maintenance such as water changes, chemical adjustment, and temperature regulation, etc. Maintaining LPS over the long term is easier.
Do you need to feed LPS corals?
SPS and smaller polyp LPS (like Chalices) prefer a mix of prepared powdered coral foods, liquid coral foods, and phytoplankton. While other large mouthed LPS will happily accept these, they also benefit from larger meaty foods like pellets, mysis, brine, or even krill.
How big is Rhodactis?
They can range in size from the 1” Tonga bullseye varieties to gigantic 18” elephants ear mushrooms. In addition, they have some of the most diverse color combinations as well as textures.
Is pulsing Xenia LPS?
These are soft corals: Pulsing Xenia’s. These are Large polyp stony corals (LPS): Frog spawn.
Can fake LPS have magnets?
The majority of LPS with magnets have blue magnets, and that simply means it would be possible for a fake seller to replicate it. I have seen a lot of confusion over this. EDIT: There are now fakes that have red magnets. This tip is no longer 100% reliable.
Are LPS still being made?

How many LPS are in the world?
There are well over 3,000 different Littlest Pets now as of 2019 and that number grows almost daily. After they are gone in the stores, they are gone, and that is NOT guaranteeing you that you can find the one you want in your store. Littlest Pet Shop toys releases different ones to different parts of the states.

In home aquariums these mushrooms reproduce asexually through longitudinal fission. In essence that means that they start to develop two mouths and then pinch themselves in half to form two separate mushrooms.
